How It Works

After our initial telephone conversation or email contact the following is a typical example of the work that we will undertake:

  • Consultation visit – this is the first step in form of a visit to see the garden and to discuss your ideas. A small fee is charged for this service at the time of the visit. This fee will then be deducted from the final invoice when you decide to go ahead with the design.
  • Survey - before proceeding with the design, a full survey of the garden is undertaken.
  • Outline sketches/design - are produced for discussion and agreement
  • Presentation Plans - are drawn up in colour with full details of hard landscaping, features and planting areas.
  • Planting Plans – normally a follow-on from Presentation Plans, including discussion of plants to be used. This stage can be omitted if desired
  • Construction drawings, specifications and plant maintenance schedules - can be produced if required.
  • Plants - can be sourced and plants placed in planting positions for others to plant.
  • Liaison with contractors and project inspection of construction are also offered.

If required we can recommend approachable, committed and professionally trained contractors who deliver work of a high standard. Alternatively, you may have your own preferred contractor you want to work with. Design work will be left with the clients after initial design suggestions have been approved by the clients. This will be presented in the Presentation Plan and invoiced at this stage.
